US service member killed in Afghanistan helicopter crash
A U.S. service member was killed in a helicopter crash just south of the capital city of Kabul on Friday, according to the NATO-led coalition in Afghanistan.
Operation Resolute Support said that the crash was not the result of enemy action. Six other U.S. crew members were injured in the crash and are currently receiving medical treatment, it said.

The crash took place in Logar province, which is south of the country’s capital.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our comrade,” Resolute Supporter commander Gen. John Nicholson said in a statement.
“On behalf of all of Resolute Support, our heartfelt sympathies go out to the families and friends of our fallen comrade and those injured in this unfortunate event,” he continued.
Resolute Support is probing the crash and said it would release more information as it becomes available.
