Soldier dies in accidental shooting at Oregon National Guard facility: report
A soldier has died in an accidental shooting at the Oregon National Guard’s main training facility Wednesday night, The Associated Press reported Thursday.
Officials did not release the name of the soldier, who died after being taken to the emergency room at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Astoria.
The Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office told the AP that members of an Army unit reported the shot fired in the housing area at Camp Rilea.
Camp Rilea is the primary training facility for the Oregon National Guard and is based in Warrenton.
