Embattled Solyndra CEO resigns
Harrison came under fire from House lawmakers last month when he and Solyndra Chief Financial Officer W.G. Stover Jr. invoked their Fifth Amendment rights at a hearing of the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s investigative panel.
Republicans on the panel are conducting a wide-ranging investigation into the Solyndra loan guarantee. The GOP has pummeled the Obama administration for approving the loan guarantee, alleging that officials missed a series of red flags that hinted at the company’s financial troubles.
A slew of internal emails released by Republicans and Democrats on the committee in recent weeks show that a number of Obama administration officials raised concerns about the Solyndra loan guarantee in the months after the Energy Department finalized it in 2009.
A Solyndra spokesman did not return a request for comment.
