Organizing for Action seeks comments on EPA carbon rules

The advocacy group formed to push President Obama’s second-term agenda is seeking support for the administration’s new carbon emissions regulations.

Organizing for Action (OFA), the overhaul of Obama’s reelection campaign, sent out an email Tuesday asking for public comments on the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) carbon emissions limits for power plants.

{mosads}”Climate change is real — there’s no credible scientific debate anymore. We’re seeing its effects more and more every year. That’s why we need to do something about it — that includes taking action to reduce our carbon emissions,” the OFA said in the email.

“Right now, the EPA is asking for the public’s input on these new limits on carbon emissions — add your name to show your support, and we’ll pass it along.”

The EPA is currently holding listening sessions in a number of states to solicit feedback on the proposed carbon pollution rules.

The rules are highly scrutinized by the GOP and coal advocates who say the regulations are killing jobs and demand unrealistic standards for coal-fired power plants.
