Hyundai announces hydrogen-powered SUV
Hyundai will launch sales of a Tucson SUV powered by a hydrogen fuel cell in 2014, The Associated Press reports.
It will be the first mass-market vehicle powered on hydrogen to be sold or leased in the U.S. The automaker plans to announce details on the new Tucson at the Los Angeles Auto Show on Wednesday.
{mosads}”These things are now ready for prime time,” John Krafcik, Hyundai North America CEO, said last week.
Hyundai tackled safety concerns by building a rear-mounted tank, which has passed numerous crash tests.
