Green groups, farmers and American Indians from areas where the Keystone XL pipeline is planned to run will protest the project in Washington this week.
The weeklong event is part of the “Reject and Protect” campaign by 350.org, the Sierra Club and the Cowboy and Indian Alliance, 350 said in a statement.
{mosads}The protest will come days after the Obama administration decided to delay its decision on the pipeline, possibly pushing the final determination beyond the midterm elections.
Advocates will kick off the event Tuesday, which is Earth Day. The group will bring 40 teepees and a covered wagon, and take a ceremonial horseback ride from the Capitol cross the National Mall.
When the event ends April 26, the groups will deliver a painted teepee to the Museum of the American Indian in President Obama’s name.
