Calif. pipeline leak spills 50K gallons of crude oil

A 20-inch pipeline burst in Los Angeles Thursday, spilling more than 50,000 gallons of crude oil across a half-square mile.

Several businesses near the rupture were affected as the oil reached knee-high levels, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

{mosads}The pipeline was remotely shut off as fire crews have worked through the morning to contain the spill, the Los Angeles Times reports.

It is still uncertain which business owned the oil line. No injuries were reported, but a number of vehicles parked a nearby nightclub were affected by the spill.
