Senate Dems rally behind major climate march
A group of Senate Democrats signed a letter Friday supporting a massive climate change march in New York City.
The march, which will be held Sept. 21, is meant to bring attention to climate change and show the global leaders attending a summit on the issue that people want action.

“Although we cannot all be with you, we want you to know that your participation sends a strong signal to the U.S. Congress and leaders around the globe about the need for action to protect our communities and families from the impacts of climate change,” the senators wrote in Friday’s letter, which will be read to those attending the march on Sunday.
Democratic Sens. Barbara Boxer (Calif.) and Sheldon Whitehouse (R.I.) spearheaded the letter. Other signatories include Sens. Maria Cantwell (Wash.), Chris Coons (Del.), and Elizabeth Warren (Mass.).
“Climate change deniers need to pull their heads out of the sand and stop obstructing efforts to address climate change,” the letter states.
