Pelosi: Passable climate bill would be priority for Dems
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) says a passable climate change bill would be a “top priority” if Democrats gain control of the House.
{mosads}In an interview with Bloomberg Government, Pelosi said the bill would be one “that could pass,” and that it may not be centered around a cap-and-trade system for polluters.
“People have different ideas whether it is cap and trade, some other form of putting a price on carbon,” Pelosi told BGov.com. “That’s a top priority. That was my flagship issue when I went in.”
Pelosi admitted that Democrats probably should have “gone in a more forward direction” on a bill addressing the impacts of climate change than they initially did when in charge of the House.
She predicted Democrats could takeover the House in 2016.
