BP is looking to reverse payments to certain victims of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
The move, opposing lawyers says, could open up challenges to hundreds of thousands of individual damage-claim recipients, Bloomberg reports.

BP says a group of nonprofit agencies that didn’t suffer any damages from the 2010 spill received hundreds of thousands of dollars.
But the victims lawyers say it’s a slippery slope, and that if BP is successful in challenging the payments awarded to nonprofits, it will use its argument against other individuals, according to Bloomberg.
