Missouri is paying less than $2 for gas
Missouri is the first state in five years to be averaging less than $2 for a gallon of gasoline, according to recent figures.
The Houston Chronicle reports drivers are paying $1.99 per gallon on average, according to GasBuddy.com.
Four other states are close to the $2 mark, as low oil prices have sent prices at the pump falling for a record number of consecutive days, AAA reported just before the holidays.
Oklahoma is right behind Missouri with an average $2.03 per gallon price. Consumers on average are paying $2.08 in Kansas and Indiana and $2.09 in Ohio as of Friday.
