Gore, Pharrell Williams to hold concerts for climate change

Former Vice President Al Gore and musician Pharrell Williams are planning concert events in multiple countries called Live Earth — Road to Paris.

The June 18 event will be a large campaign spanning concerts on seven continents, producer Kevin Wall said on Wednesday, according to Bloomberg.

{mosads}The music event is meant to build momentum ahead of the Paris talks later this year where more than 190 nations will meet to craft a global climate change treaty to slash greenhouse gas emissions.

Gore and others involved are hopeful the concerts will bring together “1 billion voices” from around the world to demand action on global warming.

“We literally are going to have humanity harmonize all at once,” Williams said.

The event locations include China, Sydney, Cape Town, Rio de Janeiro, New York City and Paris, Bloomberg reports.

Gore added that a band of scientists will play at a research station in Antarctica as well.
