Santorum: Obama climate actions will have ‘zero impact’

Former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) said U.S. actions to mitigate climate change “will have zero impact” on Sunday, days after the Senate voted overwhelmingly that climate change is real.

“Is the climate warming? Clearly, over the past 15-20 years the answer is ‘yes,’ ” Santorum said on CNN’s “State of the Union.

{mosads}Santorum added, however, that humans are not contributing to climate change, a common divergence between Republicans and Democrats.

“Is man having a significant impact on that? And is there anything we can do about it? Clearly ‘no,;” Santorum said.

A majority of Republicans in Congress argue actions taken by President Obama to fight climate change and help prevent an increase in temperatures will have no impact and hurt the U.S. economy in the process.
