Report: Ex-Im Bank rejects financing for Vietnam coal plant
The 1,200-megawatt plant was the first test to see whether the administration would implement that part of the climate plan Obama announced last month.
The plan relies on a suite of executive actions that don’t require the consent of Congress.
It also calls for more international engagement from the White House to prevent greenhouse gas emissions, with an eye toward tamping down carbon pollution from China, India and other emerging economies.
Asia is projected to drive a bulk of the growth of emissions as the continent’s nations seek more cheap, coal-fired power to support growing commerce.
