Senate confirms EPA, Navy energy nominees
The Senate also voted to fill two vacancies at the EPA.
James Jones was approved to take the lead at the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention. He’ll be the agency’s face as Congress considers updating federal toxic substances rules.
Avi Garbow earned confirmation as the EPA’s general counsel.
A third nominee, Kenneth Kopocis, didn’t see action. He is the candidate to lead the EPA’s Office of Water.
CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story misstated the status of Kopocis’ nomination.
