McConnell says he’ll ‘work to defeat’ Obama’s energy board nominee

{mosads}McConnell’s comment was an apparent reference to reports that Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) persuaded Obama to drop an earlier choice to lead FERC, which plays a key role regulating power markets and gas pipelines, among other roles.

“[Binz’s] nomination is yet another threat to American energy and jobs and I will work to defeat it,” said McConnell, who faces reelection next year and has drawn a Tea Party challenger in the GOP primary.
