Justice, EPA announce new Clean Air Act settlements

The pollutants can trigger respiratory difficulties and asthma.

Saint-Gobain agreed to install pollution control equipment at an estimated cost of $112 million. Lafarge is expected to spend $170 million to lower its emissions. Saint-Gobain also agreed to pay a $2.25 million civil penalty. Lafarge will pay a $5 million fine.
