Two Texans to take top spots on House science panel

The current committee chairman, Rep. Bart Gordon (D-Tenn.), who is retiring this year, said goodbye to the panel Friday in a statement, wishing Johnson good luck in her new role.

“I know she’s looking forward to working with incoming Chairman Ralph Hall (R-TX),” he said in a statement. “I know he’ll be a good Chairman, and I hope that they will work well together and continue the Committee’s record of being able to work across the aisle to advance science, foster innovation, and support STEM education.”
