Rahall, Hastings dispatch staff to monitor oil spill

The committee – which is holding a hearing later this month on offshore drilling – is one of several that has begun probing the April 20 rig explosion and the federal and industry response to the worsening spill that has resulted from the accident.

Salazar will appear before the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee on May 6, while a House Energy and Commerce Committee panel will hold a hearing May 12 on the causes of the accident.
