Former Rep. Ramstad joins D.C. office of tax firm

Notably he led the charge for the passage of the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, which became law in 2008, designed to end discrimination of those suffering from mental health and addiction issues. 

Ramstad, who didn’t run for reelection in 2008, was mentioned at one point as a possible choice to lead the Office of National Drug Control Policy under President Barack Obama. 

Last year, Ramstad was a resident fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. He also serves as a senior policy advisor to the Hazelden Foundation and the National Association of Drug Court Professionals.

The firm has offices in 15 cities in the United States and Canada. 

Former IRS Commissioner Mark Everson and former Senate Finance counsel Dean Zerbe also are on staff.
