GOP leader blasts Dems for debt surpassing $13 trillion
The congresswoman noted that since President Barack Obama took office, the national debt has increased by $2.4 trillion and the debt continues to grow at a rate of $4.9 billion per day, which is almost three times the daily average of $1.7 billion under President George W. Bush.
The new debt amount comes to $42,000 per person, according to McMorris Rodgers.
“At a time when American families are reexamining their budgets to cut spending and borrowing, it’s unacceptable that Congress refuses to do the same,” she said.
So far, it remains unclear if the House will produce a budget for FY 2011.
