McConnell to push Obama on Bush tax cuts

A White House aide said the “president will be following up
on a conversation the two had during the most recent bipartisan leadership
meeting at the White House.”

The aide noted there are 49 judicial nominees
pending before the Senate, 21 of which were voted out of the Senate Judiciary
Committee. Twelve of those were voted out with no opposition at all, the aide
said.

Tax cuts approved by Congress during the Bush presidency are
set to expire at the end of the year. Obama wants to extend tax cuts on
individuals making less than $200,000 and families making less than $250,000,
but would allow breaks for wealthier taxpayers to expire.
