Group launches ad slamming Obama on spending
“The $862 billion stimulus paid for pork-barrel projects all across the country, including $1.1 million to pave Hollywood’s Sunset Strip, while America lost 2.7 million jobs,” the ad states. “The pork barrel stimulus cost every American family $10,000. The wasteful spending must stop.”
The ad will begin running today on network and cable stations in Arkansas, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin. It is scheduled to stop running on Aug. 29.
The ad is part of the foundation’s Spending Crisis initiative that seeks to educate voters on recent spending in Washington.
“Washington’s wasteful spending habits are bankrupting America,” said foundation President Tim Phillips in prepared remarks. “Hardworking taxpayers deserve to know that their tax dollars are not being used wisely.”
