Obama makes final push on small-business bill
He said passing the bill would represent the first step to boosting the nation’s economic growth.
The Senate is scheduled to take up the bill first thing Tuesday after their return from the summer recess.
“I understand there’s an election coming up but the American people didn’t send us here to think about our jobs, they sent us here to think about theirs,” Obama said.
During the recess the president repeatedly asked Republicans to break the stalemate on the bill that provides tax cuts and a loan fund to help small businesses.
