House leaders call press conference on Bush tax cuts
The press conference comes rumors surface that the House may act first on the Bush tax cuts.
When asked if the House would move first, Hoyer did not fully answer the question.
“We’re not sure what the Senate can do, but the Senate can move first that would be excellent,” he said.
A press conference is expected to begin at 7pm Tuesday evening and comes as Rep. Mary Jo Kilroy (D-Ohio) circulates a letter for members to sign that urges Pelosi to host a vote on legislation that would make the Bush tax cuts for the middle-class permanent and allow breaks for the wealthiest Americans to expire.
