Minority blame economy on Obama
Despite being gone from office for over two years, 71 percent of American still give President George W. Bush the most of the credit for the current state of the economy.
Bush fares poorly partly because a relatively high proportion of Republicans (48 percent) blame him for the country’s woes. By contrast, only 19 percent of Democrats blame Obama for the economy.
Still, Americans are far from charitable when it comes to their evaluations of Obama’s performance on the economy, Gallup states.
Recent polling found that 38 percent approve of the job he is doing, which still exceeds Bush’s final approval rating on the economy of 27 percent, measured in February 2008.
