Landrieu won’t release hold on OMB nominee despite end of drilling moratorium
In a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Sept. 23, Landrieu said that while Lew “clearly possesses the expertise necessary to serve as one of the president’s most important economic advisors, I found that he lacks sufficient concern for the host of economic challenges confronting the Gulf Coast.”
The Senate Budget and Governmental Affairs committees easily approved Lew’s nomination to head OMB for a second time — his first was from 1998-2001. He would replace Peter Orszag.
