Strange bedfellows team up to cut spending

Their study identifies more than 30 cuts in federal spending, which include: 

– $62 billion in savings by eliminating subsidies to farmers and large corporations. 

– $354 billion in savings for reforming the contract and acquisition process. 

– $77 billion in savings by streamlining government programs. 

– $108 billion in savings by ending low-priority or unnecessary weapons systems, along with right-sizing other programs. 

The groups plan to send their findings to the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, which is currently in the process of drawing up its final recommendations to Congress for balancing the budget and strengthening the government’s long-term financial health.
