Geithner heading to Brazil

The visit will come roughly one month after President Dilma Rousseff was sworn into office as the nation’s first female president.

The trip will serve as a precursor to President Obama’s visit to the country in March. It also marks the first time Geithner has visited the country since becoming Treasury secretary in 2009.

The Treasury also announced Tuesday that Geithner would be convening a meeting of small business leaders in northwest Arkansas on Feb. 4. That trip is the latest example of the administration’s push to build relationships with and encourage small businesses as part of its economic recovery effort.
