Financial crisis report hits the best-seller list
The 633-page book marks the first official governmental take on the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. The FCIC stated in its report that the fallout was avoidable, and caused by human error or inaction rather than forces beyond anyone’s control.
The text also includes two dissenting opinions, offered by the four Republicans on the 10-person panel, as to what caused the financial crisis.
And the panel’s work will reach another audience Wednesday — six of the 10 FCIC commissioners are due to testify before the House Financial Services Committee about its findings.
