Manufacturing group continues campaign against surtax
Senate Democrats had proposed the surtax as a way to pay for President Obama’s $447 billion jobs package. But the president’s plan is not expected to get the needed 60 votes when it hits the floor on Tuesday evening.
{mosads}NAM joined with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other groups last week to lobby senators on the issue, saying that the surtax could help drive miliionaires’ tax bills to close to 50 percent by 2013.
