Texas Republican adds to supercommittee suggestions
{mosads}Brady’s Maximizing America’s Prosperity (MAP) Act would cap spending at 16.5 percent of potential gross domestic product, which he calls basically the highest GDP can go without causing inflation.
When Brady introduced the bill in June, he called it a complement to the House GOP budget crafted by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.). The MAP Act would also require the president to rate his or her priorities on a five-point scale, and would lower spending to 90 percent of previous levels if spending bills are not passed on time.
