Women’s business group lobbies against repatriation

As it stands, a group of lawmakers in the House are trying to get a repatriation holiday enacted by the end of the year, saying it could give a needed boost to the economy.

{mosads}By and large, Republicans in the chamber support repatriation. But some GOP leaders also want to deal with the issue within the broader scope of tax reform.

In their letter, the women’s chamber asserted that big businesses are already not paying their fair share, echoing a line used by many Democrats. The group also, like other critics of repatriation, declared that a 2004 holiday did not help create jobs.
