Private-sector employment increased nationwide in October and eclipsed 12-month averages for the second straight month, according to a new report.
All four major regions and all nine Census divisions added jobs last month, according to the ADP Regional Employment Report.
{mosads}”Among the largest states, California, Florida and Texas continue to add jobs at a pace well above the other large states,” said Ahu Yildirmaz, vice president and head of the ADP Research Institute.
California added 32,760 jobs, Florida added 20,050 and Texas 30,450 in October.
Earlier this month, ADP reported an addition of 230,000 private-sector jobs.
The South led the way in the nation’s four regions, adding 97,120 jobs. The West was second with 60,130 followed by the Midwest at 41,610 and the Northeast with 30,750.
“This is consistent with the fact that the regions they are in, West and South, have outperformed the Northeast and Midwest in employment growth during the recovery,” Yildirmaz said.
