Last January, Boire left his post as CEO at Brookstone to take the helm of Sears/Kmart. He also works as the executive vice president and chief merchandising officer at Sears Holdings Corp.

He’s held senior positions at Toys “R” Us, Best Buy and Sony Electronics.

The other members of the RILA board of directors were elected to additional two-year terms. They include Gregg Steinhafel, the chairman, present and CEO of Target Corp.; Francis Blake the chairman and CEO of The Home Depot; Walter Robb, the co-chief executive of Whole Foods Market, Inc.; and Karen Lowe, the general manager of global retail industry at IBM Corp.
