GOP congressman: Tanning tax is racist

Yoho’s office confirmed that audio posted by Right Wing Watch was of the congressman. With his comments, Yoho joins other conservative figures, including former Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.), to say that the tanning tax is racist.

{mosads}In a separate piece of posted audio, Yoho also tells a town-hall meeting that he would join legislation from Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) that focuses on Obama’s birth certificate.

The so-called “birther movement” makes the claim that Obama was born outside the U.S., and is therefore ineligible to be president. Hawaii has released Obama’s birth certificate, which notes that the president was born in Honolulu.
