US plans more sanctions for associates of Venezuelan president: report
The United States is planning to sanction more Venezuelans with connections to President Nicolás Maduro, Bloomberg News reported on Monday.
The news outlet cited “two people familiar with the matter,” saying that the imposition of new sanctions on 10 to 20 more people may come Tuesday — though the action could also be delayed while the Trump administration pursues an international effort to punish Maduro.
{mosads}The United States will push countries in South America and Europe to also impose sanctions, the report said.
News of the additional sanctions comes after the Treasury Department last month sanctioned 13 former and current Venezuelan government officials prior to the nation’s election.
