Chamber targets Pennsylvania Republicans in tax-reform ads

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce announced Tuesday that it is expanding its tax-reform ad campaign to Pennsylvania after the group ran ads in New York and Ohio.

The ads urge lawmakers to “pass the budget so we can move forward with tax reform.” The House is set to vote on its budget resolution this week.

The Pennsylvania ads, which are part of the Chamber’s seven-figure campaign, are targeting three House Republicans from the state: Scott Perry, Keith Rothfus and Charlie Dent.

Dent, a leader of the centrist Tuesday Group, is retiring from Congress at the end of his term.

The Chamber wants an overhaul of the tax code to include lower rates, a strong system for allowing businesses to recover the costs of their capital investments and territorial tax system that doesn’t tax U.S. companies’ foreign earnings.

It is one of a number of business groups that has come out in favor of Republicans’ tax-reform framework and has been pushing for prompt action on the budget.
