Some members have already raised concerns that the tax might reduce capital to businesses and severely impact companies in rural areas of the country.
Next week’s hearing will be the committee’s second on the tax. Finance Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) convened the first hearing on Apr. 20.
Steve Bartlett, president and CEO of the Financial Services Roundtable, and John Sorensen, president and CEO of the Iowa Bankers Association, are expected to join Geithner at the witness table.
