Johanns says financial regulatory reform bill still needs a few more changes
With some changes, Johanns said he can support the bill but “we’re not there yet.”
Still, he thinks the legislation could get 70 votes, joining his Republican colleague Sen. Bob Corker (Tenn.) who said earlier today the measure could garner between 70 and 80 votes.
Johanns also weighed in a bill introduced by Senate Agriculture Chairwoman Blanche Lincoln (Ark.) to rein in the derivatives market, saying it “creates more problems than it solves but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some opportunities to fix,” that measure.
