The French court, which deals only with actions by ministers, is eager to look further into a case centering on Bernard Tapie, a mogul and supporter of President Nicolas Sarkozy who won millions of euros from an arbitration court in 2008.
Lagarde became the IMF’s managing director in June, after her predecessor, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, stepped down to contest charges of sexual assault.
