Pro-tax millionaires protesting in front of Bezos’s homes
Millionaires who support raising taxes on the rich are protesting in front of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos’s homes, calling for the billionaire to pay more in taxes.
CNBC reported on Monday that the group known as Patriotic Millionaires is planning to launch a campaign on Tax Day in which they will mobilize units in front of Bezos’s homes in Washington and New York.
In honor of #TaxDay2021, we’re mobilizing in DC and NYC in response to President Biden’s efforts to require corporations and the ultra-rich to finally pay their fair share!
We are calling them out; no more evading taxes, it’s time to #TaxTheRich!https://t.co/eIDZltnZmO

The organization also shared a tweet calling on Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) to support the cause.
Hey @SenSchumer!
We’re outside of one of your New York offices and our message is loud and clear—it’s time to #TaxTheRich and save America! pic.twitter.com/qi9wFxyuhM

Patriotic Millionaires President Erica Payne also released a statement on the proposed campaign, sharing excerpts from the organization’s book “Tax the Rich! How Lies, Loopholes, and Lobbyists Make the Rich Even Richer.”
“Jeff Bezos is the poster child for the total idiocy of the country’s tax code,” Payne told CNBC.
This comes as President Biden and Democratic lawmakers are seeking to raise taxes on major corporations to aid the administration’s $2 trillion infrastructure package.
