Defeated Rep. Jason Altmire to join healthcare company

{mosads}Patrick Geraghty, Florida Blue’s chairman and CEO, said the company is “fortunate” to have Altmire coming aboard.

“Jason has spent nearly his entire professional career working to make the U.S. health care system work more effectively through the development of well-crafted health care policy. Florida Blue is very fortunate to have someone with his experience and track record to help shape the future of health care policy in Florida and the U.S.,” Geraghty said in a press release.

Before coming to Congress for his three terms, Altmire was in charge of government relations and community health for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

The departing lawmaker will relocate to Jacksonville, Fla., and start his job in January after leaving Congress.
