CMS cites early interest in EHR incentives
“We encourage early adoption, and we’re seeing the registration numbers continue on an upward trajectory,” CMS Administrator Don Berwick said in a statement.
States that have launched Medicaid programs include: Alaska, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.
About four-fifths of the nation’s hospitals and 41 percent of physicians said they intend to qualify for EHR incentives, according to January polls from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology.
