Dems ask GOP chairmen for hearings on Medicare, Medicaid
Democrats have hammered the GOP over the Medicare portion of its budget proposal and made clear that they want the public to see the budget vote as a vote specifically in favor of the Medicare and Medicaid provisions. And congressional Republicans have shown little enthusiasm for working on bills that would actually make the budget’s proposed changes to either program.
Levin and Waxman’s letter details their objections to the GOP budget, saying it would increase healthcare costs for seniors and put an end to Medicare’s ability to test and implement policies that have improved quality and lowered costs.
