Gingrich’s healthcare lobbying under scrutiny
The scrutiny of Gingrich’s healthcare work comes immediately on the heels of reports that he earned nearly $2 million as a consultant to Fannie Mac.
The Examiner, meanwhile, quoted an unnamed former employee of the drug lobby PhRMA saying pharmaceutical interests paid Gingrich a “monthly retainer” that was “at the high end” while he was publicly supporting the prescription drug benefit.
Some conservatives have criticized the program because it’s a new entitlement that isn’t paid for.
