New group to delve into U.S. healthcare spending

{mosads}The effort will be led by Martin Gaynor, a professor of economics and public policy at Carnegie Mellon University. The institute’s governing board will be comprised of Chairman Gaynor; Harvard Provost and Harvard Medical School Professor Alan Garber; MIT economics Professor Jonathan Gruber; Brighman and Women’s/Faulkner Hospitals President Elizabeth Nabel; Conference of Consulting Actuaries President-elect Dale Yamamoto; University of Minnesota health finance and insurance Professor Stephen Parente; and IOM President Harvey Fineberg, who will serve as an external adviser to the governing board.
