DNC chair sees O-Care as winner for Dems

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) said the bungled ObamaCare rollout and the president’s debunked promise that if you like your insurance plan, you can keep it wouldn’t stop the Affordable Care Act from being a winning issue for Democrats in coming elections.

“I think actually that Democrats will be able to run on ObamaCare as an advantage,” the Democratic National Committee chairwoman said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

{mosads}“What we’re not going to do is we’re not going to allow the Republicans embracing the idea that we should stop people from being able to get access to quality, affordable healthcare,” she added.

Some red state Democrats facing difficult reelection prospects have become increasingly nervous about the effects of the rollout on the 2014 elections and beyond. President Obama invited some Democratic senators to the White House last week, where they vented about the disaster surrounding the broken HealthCare.gov.

Obama also apologized last week to Americans who are losing their healthcare coverage, despite his promise that if individuals liked their plans, they could keep them under ObamaCare.

Wasserman Schultz dismissed the importance of that claim on Sunday, saying it would affect “less than 5 percent of the folks on the individual market.”
