Christie: ObamaCare will fail

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) on Monday predicted ObamaCare would be a failure.

In a speech at the Wall Street Journal forum in Washington, Christie also faulted “absolutists” from both parties for failing to run Washington “effectively and efficiently.”

{mosads}Christie, who many expect to run for president in 2016, said the healthcare law “will not succeed; it just won’t.”

But he also faulted Republicans for shutting down the government in October with what he said was a poorly thought out attempt to defund ObamaCare.

“Since ObamaCare is still currently being funded, and the government is reopened maybe I’m too cynical, but it appears to me the strategy of defunding it by closing the government failed,” Christie said.

“I think there were a number of people in Congress on the Republican side of the aisle who just did not have an end-game strategy,” he added.

Christie didn’t single out Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), another possible 2016 White House contender, who spearheaded the shutdown fight, but blamed “absolutists” in both parties.

“Your job in running the government is to run it and run it effectively and efficiently,” Christie said. “And all the people down here from the president and the leadership in Congress who engages in this stuff failed by definition.”
