Kaine: ObamaCare implementation causing us to ‘tear our hair out’
Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) said Wednesday that the implementation of ObamaCare is causing some elected officials “to tear [their] hair out.”
“There’s a whole lot of parts to this that are really working badly in the execution and implementation,” Kaine said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “Those of us who’ve run things as mayors and governors, it’s causing us to tear our hair out. But there are also some really good pieces of this.”
Kaine previously served as governor of Virginia, and mayor of its capital, Richmond.
{mosads}Both Republicans and Democrats, Kaine added, now realize “reform is got to be what we focus on.”
Republicans won’t take away insurance from a million-plus people who have gotten it on the HealthCare.gov exchanges, and the White House and Democrats have been “humbled” by the situation, he said.
Kaine was among seven Democratic senators who wrote to the White House last month urging the administration to hire a permanent CEO in charge of HealthCare.gov.
The administration announced Tuesday it’s bringing in former Microsoft executive Kurt DelBene for that position.
